Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board (DLR CEB) led 14 Irish businesses
on an 8 Day Trade Mission to China this October.
The visit took in participation in the “1st China International Cyclic (CIC) Economy Expo” in the coastal city of Qingdao,
in Shandong province. This was followed by a two-day business visit Beijing which included a meeting hosted by Enterprise Ireland.
Target Sectors
The target audience for the CiCExpo comprised businesses operating in the Renewable Energy Technology and Sustainable Environment sectors. Areas of interest included:- Recycling, Environmental Protection, Solar Energy, Wind Energy. Wave Energy, Waste Water Treatment, Energy Saving Construction or Ecological Agriculture.
Opportunites
The visit gave the Irish companies a unique opportunity to develop new markets in a high growth sector by enabling them to promote their businesses to Chinese and European counterparts, learn about emerging technologies, attend seminars and visit local sustainable energy projects.
